Who We Are

Marginalia Editorial and Creative Services is a collective of experienced professionals in creative and communications industries.

Jessie Hale has worked on everything from children’s fiction to MA dissertations as a copyeditor, substantive editor, and proofreader. She has a BA in English Language and Literature from Queen’s University and a Certificate in Publishing from Ryerson University’s Chang School, and she is working toward a Certificate in Corporate Communications from Humber College. In addition to freelancing, Jessie works as a project manager for Taqqut Productions, an Inuit-owned media publications company.

Mike Nesbitt is an artist, animator, and award-winning filmmaker. Living and working in Toronto, he balances working on graphic design for movies in the art department with his own animation projects. Between shoots, he does freelance illustration for books, cards, and comics. Art has been Mike’s lifelong passion, and his work, some of which you can view at  vashperado.deviantart.com, has gained a considerable following online.

Steve Nesbitt has a BA in English Literature and an MA in Humanities from York University, as well as a Certificate in Book Publishing from Humber College. He is a copywriter and permissions editor, and doubles as Marginalia’s marketing manager. In his spare time he generally tries to learn as much as he can about everything.

Caroline Stephenson is a graphic artist working in Toronto. A graduate of both Animation and Film, she has honed her skills in the television broadcast industry. After four years handling graphic design at ET Canada and Global News, Caroline now spends her time doing freelance promotional art, packaging design, and illustration.
